MEALS FOR MARA – SPRING 2007 MENUS

Our ‘Meals for Mara, have been well supported over the last three months and many St. Giles’/St. Mary’s people have made more than one visit.  Thank you all very much.

We are on target for the £150 per month that is needed to feed the children in Mara, but we cannot afford the uncomfortable-sounding luxury of ‘resting on our laurels’.  We would welcome more bookings for our 2007 programme and the ‘Spring Menus’ are listed below .  The usual evening is Saturday, but we are happy to consider other evenings.  All you need do is ASK!

SPRING MENUS (February to April)

STARTERS

EGG MAYONNAISE or GOLDEN VEGETABLE SOUP

or CHICKEN & HAM TERRINE

MAIN COURSES

*ITALIAN STYLE CHICKEN WITH PASTA

BEEF CASSEROLE PROVENCALE

CHILLI CON CARNE WITH RICE

PUDDINGS

RHUBARB & ORANGE PIE or DANISH APPLE CAKE

or SUMMER FRUIT GATEAU

CHEESE & BISCUITS and COFFEE

*The chicken is skinned and boned, slashed with Mozzarella cheese and cooked in a sauce of onions, tomatoes, courgettes and herbs.

Water/lemonade provided, bring your wine/beer if you wish.

£5 pays for your meal, but that’s not all, it makes two ‘old folks’ feel useful and, more importantly, provides 120 meals for the children in Mara.

Limited cooking facilities mean that ALL guests on the SAME EVENING must have the SAME MENU.

We serve at 7.00pm but by all means come from 6.30pm to settle in.
