Parish Events in March

Updated: Apr 13, 2023

Sundays | 12.30pm | Lent Lunches

Our Lent study group is meeting on Sundays at 12.30pm after Holy Communion. As part of the Year for the Bible, we will explore the great unfurling of God's covenant with humanity through the Old Testament. Each week focuses on how the fullness of God's purposes were revealed over time to Noah, Abraham, Moses, Ruth and David, and reflects on how their experiences should inform our understanding of Jesus’ sacrifice and glory, which we will recall in Holy Week and Easter. Lunch will be provided.

Wednesdays | 6.30pm | Introduction to Biblical Greek

During Lent, Edward McMillan is leading an introduction to Koine Greek: the form of Greek widely spoken at the turn of the first millennium and the language of the Gospels and Pauline Epistles. The group is meeting in the Vestry House at 5.30pm on Wednesdays. Although the course has now started, anyone who would like to join in is still very welcome, if you are interested in taking part, please get in touch.

Tuesdays | 6.30pm | Ring for the King

The new ringing group formed to prepare for the Coronation of King Charles III in May is off to an encouraging start, but there is still room for a few more people to make up the team. If you are interested in learning more about bell ringing, please contact the Rector.

1 April | 9am | Parish Walk - Rainham Marshes

The next parish walk will take place on Saturday 1 April, so please mark your diaries! Our churchwarden, Oliver Flory, will lead a bird-themed walk around the RSPB Nature Reserve at Rainham Marshes. The group will be departing from Fenchurch Street station shortly after 9am. There are lunch options at the RSPB cafe, or you can bring a packed lunch with you. There is a small admission charge to enter the Reserve and binoculars are also available to rent. For more information or to sign up, please click the button below.
