Parish Events in September

3 September | Patronal Festival

We mark the feast of St Giles with a full choral Holy Communion and Evensong in London while those from the parish who are making the journey to St Gilles du Gard in France will mark the festival at the monestary where our patron saint is buried. Look out for a full report on the trip in next month's parish magazine.

9 September | St Giles Choir at Hampton Court Chapel | 3.30pm

The St Giles Choir have been invited to sing Choral Evensong at the Chapel Royal, Hampton Court Palace on Saturday 9 September. Anyone who would like to go along and support them will be most welcome. 10 September | Guest Preacher - Rev. Arani Sen | 6.30pm We continue our programme of guest preachers with a visit from Rev. Arani Sen, Rector of St Olave's Hart Street in the City of London. Arani is Director of Ministry for the Two Cities Area and trained for ordained ministry at Ridley Hall, Cambridge. For 11 years until 2019, he ministered as Vicar of Christ Church Upper Armley, Leeds, an inner city training parish, running major social projects, notably for asylum seekers and refugees. 27 September | Wednesday Compline restarts We will recommence our Wednesday evening comline service at the end of the month, running until 22 November. St Giles & St George Reading Group To coincide with Wednesday compline services, Rev. Phillip Dawson will be leading a new reading group together with our friends at St George's Bloomsbury. There will be one book to focus on each term, so not too much reading required each week! This term's book is ‘The Experience of God’ by David Bentley Hart. 1 October | Harvest Bring & Share Lunch A date for the diary - on the first Sunday in October we will be marking Harvest Festival with a bring and share lunch after the 11am service. Everyone is encouraged to bring a dish and join in the celebration.
